Todd Godbey

President & CEO

Todd took the helm of GLOW Academy and Beacon Education in March 2015. As CEO, he shepherded the opening and growth of North Carolina’s first single-gender public charter school, GLOW Academy, in 2016. Todd recognized the need to broaden Beacon Education's mission to provide earlier and more equitable access to high-quality education. This fall, he leads the opening of the first of four early childhood education centers - Spark Academy. Todd has been active in community and children’s organizations throughout his entire career. He has served on the board of directors of several local organizations, including The Carousel Center for Abused Children, the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, The Aquarium Advisory Board, Cape Fear Center for Inquiry, The Children’s Foster Care Fund, and Communities in Schools; and is a QENO coach. Todd’s volunteer work in the community has significantly impacted the lives of children and families in the Cape Fear region. He is skilled in brand building, management, and fundraising and driven by the desire to make the world a better place.
